SOAKING
INSTRUCTIONS
All Capes – Soak 1-4 hours depending on thickness (1
hour for antelope, 4 hours moose) in cool saltwater (1 pound

in a plastic bag over night. At this time skins
will be
nicely soaked
and relaxed
for
prepping and mounting.
Bears
and Furs for Rugs – Soak
only head and feet in cool salt water for 1-3 hours. Drain
and refrigerate in a

completely dry, soak the feet in a pan while
sponging the
flesh side on the
skin,
and do not wet the hair.
Bears
and Furs for full mounts – Soak
the head and feet in cool saltwater while sponging the rest
of the hide. Then
drain the
dead and feet and refrigerate in a plastic
